Town of Thornton

Area Information

Thornton is surrounded by miles of White Mountain National Forest, clean rivers and offers easy access to many popular New Hampshire recreational activities making Thornton the perfect year-round and vacation home destination.

These Popular Ski areas are all within easy driving distance: Waterville Valley Resort, Loon Mountain, Cannon Mountain and Tenney Mountain while the White Mountain National Forest offers ample opportunities for hiking, fishing, hunting, and biking while the Pemigewasset River is accessible for swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and tubing.

Golfing enthusiasts can enjoy the Jack O Lantern golf course is located in Thornton. While .Owl's Nest Golf Club is located in the towns of Thornton and Campton. Both offer full scale service and wonderful golf outings.

Local favorite activities include the Annual Old Home Day Festivities, the White Mountain Boogie N' Blues, Ham and Bean Suppers at the Methodist Church, the Grange's Sugar on Snow Square dance and the Annual Thornton Central School Craft Fair.
